Personal Care Aide/Med Tech

On the Job, Paid Med Tech Training Provided!

Hours: FT, 2:00 - 10:00 p.m. 4-5 days per week including every other weekend

Pay: $17.00/hour

Duties:  Our Personal Care Aides provide direct care services and medication administration for our 44 residents as well as assisting with laundry, housekeeping and dining room duties.

Requirements Qualifications: (First Aid & CPR, Medication Administration Certification and Insulin Certification provided on the job)
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent or PA Nurses’ Aide Certification
  2. Must be First Aid, CPR and AED certified, able to perform the Heimlich procedure.
  3. Must complete and maintain Medication Administration Certification including insulin training.
  4. Must complete required 12 hours of annual training (plus any additional trainings assigned).
  5. Proficient in use of computer and related technology required for the role.
  6. Possesses good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Demonstrates a pleasant personality with flexibility and adaptability for frequent interruptions.
Specific Requirements:
  1. Ability to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  2. Ability to patiently, tactfully and enthusiastically deal with personnel, residents, family members, etc.,
  3. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  4. Ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
  5. Ability to complete tasks assigned for each shift and document on the daily shift check list.
Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices):
  1. Must be able to move throughout the building throughout the work day.
  2. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.  Subject to interruptions and hostile/emotionally upset residents and family members.
  3. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use a prosthetic that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements for this position can be fully met.
  4. Must function independently and with flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.
  5. Primarily walks, bends, lifts, reaches, stands and grasps intermittently during working hours.  May also climb, push, pull and crouch.  Must be able to lift, push, pull and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
