PALA Regional Forums

July - August 2025

PALA Members: $75 | Non-Members: $125

PALA is excited to introduce this summer’s Regional Forums—an excellent opportunity to stay current with the latest trends in the AL/PCH industry, earn 4 BHSL CEUs, and network with fellow members in your region.

Registration fees are $75 for PALA members and $125 for non-members, which includes the sessions, 4 CEUs, and lunch. Although regional attendance is encouraged, attendees have the option to participate at an alternative location if needed. Space is limited at each venue, so we recommend registering early to secure your place.

The cancellation deadline is 3 weeks prior to the forum date. A $25 administrative fee will be assessed. Cancellations will not be accepted after the deadline, but substitutions are permitted for the registered forum location only.

Regional Forum Agenda

July 17, July 30, Aug. 7, & Aug. 13

9:30 - 10:00am – REGISTRATION

10:00am-Noon – Dementia Training for AL/PC Caregivers: The What and the How to Create Better Care and Dementia Live® - Joel Kroft, Executive Director of Memory Support Services for Country Meadows Retirement Communities, and Christina Carol Ditman, Senior Executive Director of Programming for Country Meadows Retirement Communities

This session will focus on the key topics necessary for training our staffs to enhance the quality of care and improve the lives of residents living with dementia, as well as the “How” of delivering information that will connect with caregivers.

Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in Dementia Live®, an immersive simulation that recreates the cognitive and sensory challenges experienced by individuals with dementia. This hands-on experience aims to deepen understanding, foster empathy, and promote more compassionate caregiving by providing a firsthand perspective on the daily difficulties faced by those living with dementia.

Noon - 12:30pm - LUNCH (Network with your colleagues and forum sponsor while PALA Executive Director, Susan Saxinger, provides industry updates.)

12:30-2:00pm - BHSL UPDATES, Regional Licensing Staff

Attendees will also hear from your BHSL regional staff about the common trends they have identified during inspections, to offer reminders and best practices, and provide an opportunity for questions from the attendees.
