Pennsylvania lawmakers push bipartisan bill to address chronic senior living workforce shortages

Bipartisan legislation under consideration in Pennsylvania, meant to help senior living communities address chronic workforce shortages, has the backing of senior living industry advocates there.

Senate Bill 116 would allow high school juniors and seniors to earn graduation credit by working or volunteering in licensed care settings, including assisted living communities, personal care homes and nursing homes. The Pennsylvania Senate Education Committee unanimously passed the bill out of committee.
